These Congaree National Park engagement photos were such a fun change of pace from the Asheville mountains. Sometimes something a little different is exactly what’s called for. Located in Columbia, South Carolina, about an hour from Greenville, Congaree is a place like no other.
What you’ll find is more swamp like than anything else in the area, but don’t let that fool you. It’s also got a unique, romantic vibe with it’s tall trees that mimic skinnier redwoods and the magical boardwalk that loops through the space for an easy, level walk.
This is the perfect choice if you want engagement photos without having to hike to get there and there’s no shame in not wanting to sweat for your session!
This couple was so fun and game for all my prompts and that made things super easy. Our hour together flew by and I gathered so many beautiful photos that capture just how in love they are. Check out that back bend dip in the last picture! They nailed that pose on the first try and then did it three more times so I could get different angles. Amazing.
I’m more than ready to head back there again for another round of pictures! The only cons to this locations? The bugs! Heads up, if you plan to go there be sure to take your bug spray. The mosquitoes are real and persistent and they’ll get you good if you don’t protect yourself, or maybe they just love me more than most (am I lucky or what?) I think it’s worth it, though, to be in such a special place.
